Hannah Patterson is an East Coast based Director, Cinematographer, and Video Editor. Growing up a multi-sport athlete and musician, she has always been a collaborator and team player; she strongly believes that the best leaders keep up with the innovations and jargon of all the departments to communicate visions in the language people understand best.

Hannah explores the human condition within stories; she’s influenced by the complexity of relationships and is interested in telling stories that invite the viewer not only to feel but also to reflect. Her specialties include, but aren’t limited to, slice of life, coming of age, and found family narratives- toeing the thin line between drama and comedy

Her projects exude a thematic tone based in realism. She believes realism gives viewers a glimpse of an achievable future, something that could happen or be experienced. For Hannah, life truly imitates art and her aim is to bring about a world that reflects the media the way most imagined and hoped for it to become.

Since receiving her masters in film production from Georgia State University in 2020, Hannah is a Princess Grace Finalist, Television Academy Cinematography Alumnus, and a multi-grant winner. Her projects have been featured in film festivals across the country and in The Smithsonian.

When Hannah isn’t on set, she is skateboarding, fronting her band, drumming, catching up on her watchlist, or studying her favorite Directors: Mike Flanagan, Park Chan-wook, Dee Reese, Mati Diop, Steven Soderbergh, and Craig Zobel; and her favorite Directors of Photography: Bradford Young, Claire Mathon, Hong Kyung-pyo, and Roger Deakins.
